A passion for fine wood
BIKA is a family owned and operated company that focuses on creating furniture characterized by its quality, strength, beauty and longevity.
The motivating force behind BIKA’s approach to furniture is a passion for beautiful wood, which was inherited from the founder of BIKA, David Cheung, and inspires all generations of the family to seek out the very finest materials … the beautiful, the strong, the rare, the exotic … understanding the unique way in which certain woods ‘speak’ to certain customers.
BIKA family members travel to boutique mills around the world to source their woods, building close relationships with suppliers who share their passion. This mutual trust enables BIKA to access unique rare woods not otherwise released, as specialist mills know that these special woods will be cared for and used within a premium product.
Jason cheung

A graduate from Babson College in Finance and Entrepreneurship, Jason Cheung started his career learning about wood. His first job was with Coastal Lumber in the USA, as a lumber grader, working in the forests identifying which lumber should be cut, then at the sawmill grading all the lumber to be shipped to customers, and at Coastal Lumber’s dimension plant where raw materials were transformed into finished goods. A university course in furniture manufacturing in North Carolina and a subsequent job with US company Century Furniture completed his formative education and he returned to pursue his passion with the family firm, BIKA.
Applying his knowledge and experience in manufacturing and engineering, Jason encouraged a major investment in machinery and efficiency in the company’s production system and working with Karina Cheung on improving BIKA’s internal organization.
An ardent believer in BIKA’s vision "to create a unique quality product and provide a unique level of service," Jason is closely involved with every facet of the operation and finds immense satisfaction in the high quality fine furniture for which BIKA is so admired.

Karina’s guiding ethos permeates her approach and vision for the BIKA brand and product. "We care and we are committed. We care about the service we provide to our clients. We care that we strive to build exceptional products. We care about our staff. We don’t just build furniture for the financial return. We build furniture that will become a part of our customer’s life. The furniture has to be good for them; not a health hazard. We believe in making furniture with soul… furniture that reflects the love and care and attention given to its manufacture."
